Where to Go on Your Next Lunch Break

In the fast-paced world of business, taking a break from the daily demands isn’t just a luxury - it’s a necessity. Today, we’re featuring some local spots in a few of the surrounding counties Central Willamette serves that are worth stopping by.

Albany:

Albany has a wide range of food to satisfy your cravings with new restaurants joining the neighborhood quite frequently. If you’re looking for a quick stop, Don Jose’s has recently announced the opening of their second food truck, now located on Pacific Blvd near Big 5 Sporting Goods! Don Jose’s offers traditional Mexican cuisine, such as tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, in addition to some more unique dishes like quesabirria tacos and ramen birria soup! With a five-star rating, this hidden gem is the perfect lunch spot.

A new sushi restaurant has also made its way into town. While Sweet Home natives may have heard this name, our Albany locals may be surprised to learn that the second location for Osaka Sushi & Ramen is now open in the Heritage Mall shopping center area. Their menu is extensive, including Japanese-style ramen and bento boxes made to fulfill everyone’s appetites.

Corvallis:

Packed with cuisine from all over the globe, Corvallis is a foodie’s dream! Feeling a craving for barbecue? Check out Cascade Barbecue at Timberhill Shopping Center, available during lunch hours for take-out. Their mouth-watering menu includes delicious smash burgers and sandwiches featuring chopped brisket, pulled pork, and smoked prime rib.

Another restaurant that may not be as well known is Yummy Yummy, offering authentic Chinese cuisine. You'll find it tucked away at the back of HK Market located on Kings Blvd. This hidden gem has an extensive menu with shareable meat and vegetable dishes as well as dim sum!

Salem:

It’s hard to choose a favorite lunch spot in a city like Salem. For a wide variety of food, check out Venti’s Cafe & Taphouse on Commercial St! Venti’s offers traditional American food, such as burgers, sandwiches, and wraps, in addition to customizable bowls with tastes from across the world.

Our last stop on this quick lunch tour is Kim Huong, a Vietnamese restaurant that features a menu like no other. Perfect for the cold, Kim Huong is the perfect place to stop for a bowl of pho or other noodle soups, vermicelli, and more.

Lunch spots made to satisfy everyone’s cravings, these food experiences showcase the diversity in our local food scene.
